Dispatches from the Graduate Classroom is hosted and produced by Ann York and Fritz Nordengren. The two graduate school faculty members bring ideas, connections, and context to the ever changing world of higher education, technology, and information literacy.
Born in Detroit, and having been a practitioner, leader and scholar from Duke University to San Luis Obisbo, Ann York, PhD. currently leads research in Evidenced Based-Practice and is a faculty member in the College of Health Sciences at Des Moines University. Ann teaches online and in the classroom Health Care Economics and Policy, Conflict Resolution, and The Role of Gender in Health Care Leadership Models. She has been a Chief Human Resources Officer and overseen administrative and practice aspects of health care management. Ann received the Outstanding Dissertation Award for her doctoral work at Walden University 1996.
F.R. “Fritz” Nordengren, MPH is a native of Washington, D.C. and has lived in the mid west most of his working career. He is Education Technology Strategist for Des Moines University as well as faculty in the Master of Health Care Administration program. Fritz has twice been named one of the the “Top 100 Producers” in the United States by AV Video Multimedia Producer magazine and has produced documentaries resulting from his work in 14 countries. He teaches Overview of the United States Health Care System, Critical Thinking/Creative Thought, Virtual Team Leadership, and Change Leadership and co facilitates RX for Survival, a cross disciplinary seminar on global health.
